Nitrofurantoin: A favorite medication for simple cystitis. It is well absorbed and highly concentrated in the urine. It is recommended for cystitis in many situation including for ESBL-Enterobacterales. It is DOES NOT reach high concentration in the upper track and renal tissue so it is not used for pyelonephritis.
